Hihi, everyone! 🄰 How are you all? I’m very well!Ā ā˜ŗļø

Today’s review is for FairestĀ by Gail Carson Levine! This one’s been on my shelf for years, but I never got around to reading it until this past week. šŸ˜‚ I’m so glad I finally did! 🩷 Let’s get right into it.Ā šŸ˜‰

Blurb: In the kingdom of Ayortha, who is the fairest of them all? Certainly not Aza. She is thoroughly convinced that she is ugly. What she may lack in looks, though, she makes up for with a kind heart, and with something no one else has–a magical voice. Her vocal talents captivate all who hear them, and in Ontio Castle they attract the attention of a handsome prince–and a dangerous new queen. In this masterful novel filled with humor, adventure, romance, and song, Newbery Honor author Gail Carson Levine invites you to join Aza as she discovers how exquisite she truly is.

I loved this one so much! šŸ˜ I always enjoy a good fairytale or respectful retelling, and this one scratched the itch I was feeling for just such a story! ā˜ŗļø

I am not sure if this is marketed as YA or MG, but it definitely felt more YA with some of the plot aspects and romance. Whichever it was, I still enjoyed it and the writing was at a high enough level to keep my attention. 🄰

I also really enjoyed the nods to some of Gail Carson Levine’s other stories hidden in this book--that just gave me a little thrill as a reader. šŸ˜‰šŸ¤£šŸ’—

Favorite charries:

šŸŽ Aza

šŸ‘‘ Ijori

ā˜•ļø zhamM

šŸŽ¶ Areida

CWs: Romance up to non-descriptive kisses between one young couple. Attempted suicide by poisoned drink.

What about you all? šŸ¤— What have you been reading lately? Have any of you read this one? šŸ¤” I’d love to hear! 🩷

One last thing before you go! šŸ˜‰šŸ¤ I haven’t posted about this at all since the initial announcement post, but the anthology that my story was accepted into, Illuminate the Dark, is coming out in just ten days!!! 🤩🄳🄳 You can pre-order the e-book now. 🩷 I’m so excited!!!Ā šŸ˜†šŸ„³šŸ„°

That’s all for now! šŸ˜‰ Thanks so much for reading.Ā  šŸ¤—

That is so exciting! Congratulations, Sara!!! I've read Fairest before, and it was SUCH a good read - although I will admit that I loved her book Ella Enchanted even more! Congratulations again; that is such good news!

10 days! How exciting! We got out of the habit of reading, so before we get into the fifth book of the Incorrigibles series, I thought I'd read a quick book. I picked one of the Newberry winners I enjoyed from my Children's Literature course in college, A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park. I'm also reading about 4 non-fiction books right now. 🤣
